Gaugemaster Class 59 003 ‘Yeoman Highlander’ GBRf [N Gauge]
Item No: GM2210501

The Class 59 diesel-electric locomotive, built by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division between 1985 and 1995, was the first American-built design to operate regular heavy freight duties in the UK. Originally commissioned by Foster Yeoman to replace underperforming BR Class 56s, the initial batch arrived in 1986 and quickly proved their worth. Just fifteen were built, but their robust performance laid the foundation for the more numerous Class 66. No. 59003 Yeoman Highlander is one of the most distinctive examples, now operating in GB Railfreight (GBRf) livery and noted for its history both in the UK and during its time on lease in Germany. This finely detailed N Gauge model, produced exclusively for the Gaugemaster Collection, features accurate body tooling, etched grilles and handrails, all-wheel drive and pickup, and directional lighting. DCC-ready with a smooth-running 5-pole motor, it comes complete with etched nameplates, NEM couplings (standard and knuckle types), and a bag of additional detailing parts. Measuring 144mm over buffers, this limited-edition release is ideal for modellers of modern freight operations from Era 9 onward.
