This 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit depicts the German Hummel self-propelled howitzer in its late production form. Developed quickly during the early stages of WWII, the Hummel was designed to provide artillery support for the German army, particularly during the struggles following the invasion of the Soviet Union. Built on a hybrid chassis combining parts from the Pz.Kpfw. III and IV, the Hummel was equipped with the powerful 15cm sFH18/1 howitzer capable of firing shells weighing up to 43.5kg at ranges exceeding 13 kilometers. The model is 190 mm in length and 84 mm in width, and accurately reproduces the Hummel’s form with its thin armor and late-production integrated driving compartment. It features a coordinated sight and the 15cm howitzer’s elevation mechanism. The assembly-type tracks feature one-piece straight sections to create realistic “sag” on the upper run. The kit includes three figures depicted in action, loading shells, and offers two marking options to recreate vehicles from the Eastern and Western Fronts. (Glue and paint not included.)
