This 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit depicts the U.S. M40 self-propelled gun, a mobile artillery piece developed near the end of WWII and later deployed extensively during the Korean War. With a total length of 305mm and width of 91mm, the model captures the robust design built on the proven M4 Sherman chassis, armed with the formidable 155mm “Long Tom” gun capable of reaching targets up to 23.5 kilometers away. Stability during firing was achieved using a large rear spade, faithfully replicated here as a functional component. The gun itself features poly-capped equilibrators for smooth elevation, with both elevation and traverse movement possible. Additional working features include a movable rear gate and positionable spade. Clear parts are included for sighting equipment and periscopes, while photo-etched parts reproduce engine grilles with precision. T80 track details are rendered using belt-type sections. The kit is completed with a rich set of accessories such as shells, crates, and storage items, as well as a full crew of eight figures posed in action. Two Korean War marking options are included.
