This 1:72 scale starter set builds the P-51D Mustang, the most advanced and widely produced version of North American Aviation’s iconic long-range escort fighter. The P-51D introduced key improvements such as a bubble canopy for enhanced visibility, the K-14 computing gunsight, a revised ammunition feed to reduce jamming, and the use of lightweight drop tanks that allowed deep-penetration missions into enemy territory. The Mustang was instrumental in gaining Allied air superiority over Europe, claiming more aerial victories than any other USAAF fighter in the European theatre. The kit contains 31 parts and assembles into a 137 mm long model with a 158 mm wingspan.
