This 1:48 scale kit recreates the early-model P-38F/G Lightning, Lockheed’s distinctive twin-boom fighter that served in both the European and Pacific theaters from 1942. With twin V12 engines, central nacelle cockpit, and powerful armament, the P-38 proved a highly capable long-range escort and attack aircraft. It famously downed Admiral Yamamoto’s aircraft in 1943. Developed from extensive study of real aircraft, this kit features accurate contours, early-style engine nacelles, and the rounded canopy of the F/G variants. Includes parts for both canopy types, positionable open or closed, and a precisely detailed cockpit with control column, bulletproof glass, and radio equipment. Tailplane installs securely with rudder components. Metal decals simulate landing gear strut cylinders, and included weights ensure correct balance.
