This 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit recreates the Royal Navy’s Westland Sea King HC.4 commando transport helicopter, licensed from Leonardo UK Ltd and comprised of 289 finely molded parts, including a super decal sheet for four marking schemes and a photo-etched fret, for a Skill Level 4 build. Nicknamed the “King of the Junglies,” the HC.4 entered service in the early 1980s to replace the Wessex HU.5 and saw action in the Falklands War, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, with airframe ZA298 serving over 30 years. The model features folding main rotor blades and tail for compact display, the HC.4’s unique undercarriage without sponsons, an extended cabin interior with additional seating, selectable open or closed door positions, and a GPMG machine-gun mount. Cockpit, antennas, and countermeasure details are faithfully rendered, with a paint layout sheet and canopy masks to assist finishing. The completed model measures 460 mm in length, 397 mm across the rotors, and 100 mm in height. (Figures, glue, and paint not included.)
