This 1:72 scale plastic model assembly kit recreates the Westland Sea King HC.4 “Commando,” the Royal Navy’s amphibious troop‑transport variant of the legendary SAR helicopter. Originally proposed without floats for the Egyptian Air Force, the HC.4 entered service with folding main and tail rotors, side‑floats deleted, and was later upgraded with radar‑warning receivers, infrared jamming equipment, and M130/M147 flare dispensers. With space for 28 troops or up to 2.5 tonnes of underslung cargo, it saw operational service in the Falklands, Balkans, Gulf, Lebanon, and Afghanistan before retiring from UK forces in 2016. The kit comprises 133 precision‑molded parts to build a model measuring 307 mm in length with a 263 mm rotor span. Features include a detailed cockpit and troop cabin interior, folding main and tail rotor assemblies, optional side‑float fittings, authentic radar and flare‑chute fairings, and finely recessed panel lines. Two genuine Royal Navy marking schemes are provided on the decal sheet. The box also contains illustrated assembly instructions and a paint‑layout guide. Skill Level 2. (Glue and paint not included.)
