This Skill Level 4, 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit recreates the Westland Lynx HMA.8, the Royal Navy’s maritime-attack and ASW variant of the multi-role Lynx helicopter. Licensed from Leonardo MW Ltd, the HMA.8 entered service in the early 1990s, combining advanced sensors and armament—missiles, depth charges or a heavy machine gun—with the Lynx’s renowned agility for anti-submarine, search-and-rescue, and anti-piracy operations. The kit comprises 296 finely molded parts that build into a finished model 316 mm long, 265 mm rotor-to-rotor, and 76.5 mm tall, accurately rendering the high cockpit, slender fuselage, four-blade main and tail rotors, and folding tail pylon. A comprehensive “super decal” sheet provides three marking options—815 NAS aboard HMS Portland (UK, 2017), Marinefliegergeschwader 3 “Graf Zeppelin” (Germany, 2018), and Sovaernets Helikopterjeneste (Danish Navy, 2013)—with full-color painting guide.
