Powered by the innovative Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba engine—featuring two side-by-side turbines driving contra-rotating propellers—the Gannet combined advanced electronics with a distinctive bi-folding wing design for carrier storage. Armed with depth charges, rockets, bombs, and air-launched torpedoes, it was capable of attacking submarines both on the surface and submerged.
