Product Info
No. 46243 ‘City of Lancaster’ was originally numbered 6243 under LMS. Named in April 1940, it was streamlined at Crewe Works on May 29 of the same year, with a tender fitted on that date. The nameplates were chromium-plated but wore away over time. Under BR nationalisation, it was renumbered as 46243 in April 1948. It was de-streamlined in May 1949, becoming the only locomotive to carry its BR number while streamlined. ‘City of Lancaster’ was withdrawn from service in September 1964 and cut up in August 1965.

The model features a sleek BR blue livery with the running number ‘46243’ and the name ‘City of Lancaster’ on the body sides, along with an Early BR crest on the tender. It is DCC-ready and compatible with the HM7000 21-Pin decoder. The accessory bag includes an NEM pocket for the bogie, a bar coupling, a hook coupling, two steps, an articulated small coupler assembly, a brake rod, a tender brake rod, a pony truck wheel axle assembly, a locomotive vac pipe, and two draincocks.
